SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES AFTER CHALLENGING CLINICAL EVENTS

Healthcare professionals can experience distress after an adverse event or another emotionally challenging clinical experience. Your organization's response matters. A planned peer support process gives trained colleagues a way to offer support and helps leaders prepare their teams for these conversations.

The term second victim phenomenon describes the distress healthcare professionals may experience after involvement in a clinical event. Experiences and support needs vary. This training introduces the phenomenon and provides resources to help you develop a peer support network appropriate for your organization.
