MOCPS Leading CUSP Education in National NICU CLABSI Collaborative

December 1, 2011    |   By: Calevir

The MOCPS has been invited to lead a six-month course on the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) to over 70 Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) located throughout 7 states.    All participating NICUs have joined a national collaborative sponsored by the Health Research Educational Trust (HRET) to stop central-line associated blood stream infections (CLABSIs).    Like the CLABSI reduction collaborative for adult patients, partcipating units will implement both clinical and cultural interventions to reduce or eliminate CLABSIs in neonates.    The MOCPS will lead the cultural interventions in this national collaborative, using its experience and expertise in CUSP as the foundation.

The national collaborative is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).    For more information, please contact Kimberly O’Brien at  [email protected].
